Sage, Salvia officinalis, Salvia purpurea, Salvia ictaria
I have to admit I have a bit of a thing for the ol’ Salvia family, it’s huge and not all are created equally, I tend to go for the fragrant or useful ones but I dare say I will probably diversify eventually!
So here is 3 that are fairly similar..sort of. Salvia officinalis is your common sage, green leafed with a hundred and one uses. Salvia purpurea is the purple leaved variety also with a hundred and one uses (can be used medicinally and culinary). Salvia icateria is green and yellow varigated with one use (looking pretty).
